Pros of the ballpark: A great, smart crowd who treats the team like a semipro club, everyone is on a first name basis...Noise! When any team of significance is in town, the Dome is a boombox of noise...Its indoor, but it needs to be, its Minneapolis.
Cons of the ballpark: Fake sky, fake grass, fake sun, fake wind (out when the Twins hit, in when the visitor does, if you believe the urban legend).
Additional Comments: I was at a game in September, 2002 (or 2003, i dont recall), when the A's came to town on a 20-game winning streak. Zito was pitching against Radke, in an amazing duel , until in the bottom of the 6th, the Dome showed up. Zito was cruising until a twins player hit a bloop to shallow left. The A's player lost it in the Dome, found it, then assumed the SS had it, due to the noise of the 40,000 fans assembled. The next hitter hit a lazy line drive to right center that hit the turf, picked up speed (I swear to god), and scooted by a diving Jermaine Dye (who assumed it was physically impossible for that to happen) a RBI, standup triple ensued, Zito came unglued and gave up a home run, and the winning streak was over. I grew up in the Dome (I was at the series in '87 at the grizzled age of 9 months, and again in '91), so I may be a bit forgiving to the Dome's flaws, but I've been to Cominsky (terrible fans, worse sightlines) and other outdoor parks, and it see med stale. Other then Fenway, Wrigley, and TIger, I think the Dome is one of the few places you can start a story, see the blank look on your friend's faces, then say "you wouldn't understand it unless you have seen it." The people and the team really make that park OK.

Pros of the ballpark: This place is neat and clean, and it seems newer than 23 years old.  The ticket deal was great ($10.00 for a seat, a hot dog, and a soft drink)!  I thought the seating was comfortable and the views of the field were fine.  This is a nice stadium.
Cons of the ballpark: Well, it's a bit of a walk from the parking area to the stadium.  Also, the field has greasy ruts in it where the stands are rolled back and forth.
Additional Comments: This stadium has YEARS of life left in it.  Look, if you like baseball, but hate freezing weather and rain, you'll appreciate the Metrodome.  Plus, it's paid for!

Pros of the ballpark: love the Metrodome. Being from North Dakota, It's nice to be able to sit inside for a game. I hate being outside because in the summer months it is pretty humid and that takes the fun out of going to the game, worrying if I will sweat to death outside. It is nice knowing that I won't have to worry about a cancellation. I have been to most of the playoff games since 2002 and I can honestly say that the Metrodome has the coolest playoff atmosphere. It is so loud that I could feel my seat shaking! The stadium holds many memories for me and it would really sadden me to see it go.
Cons of the ballpark: I don't think anything is wrong with it, but, as with all things, a change is needed eventually. I do agree that the Twins and Vikings should have a separate stadium, but I hope that the Twins, if they indeed do build a new stadium, pay homage to the stadium that has seen both of it's World Series Titles.
Additional Comments: If the Twins do get a new stadium, please let it have a retractable roof!!! The Twins will rise again!!

Pros of the ballpark: I like the the noise levels in the dome, even though the game we went to there was only about 9000 fans it still got pretty loud. It was pretty cool to get selected for a pregame contest were my wife and I got the chance to catch pop fly's in the outfield. I like the feel of the turf. And I don't know what the fuss is with the white roof. I had no trouble tracking the balls.
Cons of the ballpark: It was kind of dark,  We sat 3 rows up from the field and had to climb about 50 steps to get to the concourse. By the time I went down that many steps with two beer in my hands, I spilt about half.
Additional Comments: Overall I enjoyed my Metrodome experience and would definitely go again.

Pros of the ballpark: I've been her to four games and TwinsFest twice. One thing i can say is that you'll never have to worry about rain outs.  Also for being in Minnesota you almost need an enclosed stadium of some sort.  Freezing myself for 1 & 1/2 hours in the Minnesota winter for Twinsfest is not exactly my idea of a good time.  Thank goodness it was warm and cozy inside. The fans are very knowledgeable which seems to be hard to find in many other places.  I saw a playoff game with the Yankees here in '03 and that was amazing.  The homer hankies, The noise!!
Cons of the ballpark: It feels cramped....everywhere not just in the seats but all around.  Try walking through the concourse when its a packed house.  Also the Twins clubhouse is very small in fact its the smallest in the League.  The only place you really want to sit is behind home plate or between home and 1st or 3rd any further out and you will be very uncomfortable as you turn to try to see a game.  The new turf is a great improvement.  It at least plays more natural.  This is a football stadium not a baseball park.  I can only imagine how loud it gets in this place for football.
Additional Comments: There were Viking fans tailgating outside during the Twins playoff game.  Come on Pohlad that alone should be enough to get you jealous and start putting more money into this team so they can compete with Red McComes and the Viks.

Pros of the ballpark: People give the dome a bad rap but I think its cool I might sound dumb cause its the only mlb park I've been to but I LOVE it. The noise, the turf the roof (which I think is really neat) the fans are pretty good and smart and I love the baggy in right. Also the curtain in right-center is a nice touch
Cons of the ballpark: Well its a little cramped , when you sit down the 3rd baseline in some seats you have to turn to watch the game , I don't care for dome dogs and being blown out of there is odd ( but sort of fun) and call me nuts but I think they should make it so you can sit I right and center..
Additional Comments: I think the dome is cool and I love looking at the roof from the outside and inside and I think we can hold off a couple years before it goes bye-bye. Also what's all that talk bout the Homerdome I been to 4 games and saw 3 homers.

Pros of the ballpark: One of the days we were there, the weather was awful outside. It was 70 degrees on the inside. Rain out would have been the word of the day it weren't at The Dome.
Cons of the ballpark: It was indoor baseball. Enough said.
Additional Comments: The Metrodome is a dark, dank and drab place. It's is ok for football, barely. It is a building that should have never been. There are some great memories there for Twins fans, but there were great memories at Metropolitan Stadium too.. Give me the great outdoors, please!!!!!!

Pros of the ballpark: The Metrodome maybe just another stupid multipurpose stadium, that has no character at all. But I think that the Mo Dome, as I call it, is unique in that its a air supported dome. The roof is very low and painted white so it screws up visiting teams. My first baseball game I ever went to was Game 7 of the 1991 world series, I was 3 at the time so I don't remember much except for how loud the crowd was when the twins won it.
Cons of the ballpark: The Metrodome is one of the worst ballparks in the AL. only about 40% of the seats face home plate, the sound system sucks, the stupid seats in right field look like the designers didn't care about the looks of stadium. and the blue seats look really dumb.
Additional Comments: WE NEED A NEW STADIUM NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ballpark Visited: Metrodome Submitted By: Sam Grade: C
Pros of the ballpark: The ballpark is so loud when there is +30,000 people in it and in September and May the climate control is nice.
Cons of the ballpark: It's indoor baseball. There is no parking within about 1 mile. It's a football stadium, you can see that when you look at the seating chart. On a day when less than 20,000 people are in there the sea of blue seats is really ugly. Walking into the dome on a sunny July day is a biter feeling.
Additional Comments: A new stadium would be nice, but it would have to be heated. The dome is also nice because they can do TWINSfest in it.

Pros of the ballpark:
As long as you sit in "Diamond View" seats (around the infield), or anywhere in leftfield, the sightlines are good.  Seats are easily accessible.  Nice contrast in the seat colors and field color.
When Twins are fielding a good team (as in past 2 years), lots of noise and good atmosphere.

Cons of the ballpark:
Sound is bad unless you sit in lower deck. Artificial turf is 11 years old and has seen many better days (paint from
Vikings games clearly visible).  When Twins were not good (1993 to 2000), mid to late September games allowed for VERY quiet and dull crowds.

Additional Comments:
This is my hometown team, and I have been to the Old Met, but if you want to get away from mosquitoes, intense Sunday afternoon July heat, and rainstorms, the Dome is a good bet.   Ironic thing is,
with all the baseball purists in the area, over 35,000 fans filed in on a hot sunny summer day or steamy afternoon. Go figure.

Pros of the ballpark: One of the best home field advantage stadiums in the league--opposing teams have problems with the roof, fast & hard turf, and the "thunder" coming from the crowd during winning seasons (only 2 loses during post season play). Best ticket prices in the majors. The "Hefty Bag" in right was an unique attraction before it became a Dodge advertisement.
Cons of the ballpark:It's a football stadium, when seated you're facing the Vikings game and not the Twins (unless you're seated in Diamond View or left field). The folded up football seats in center and right are one of the ugliest sites in the majors.. It has a roof and artificial turf! It's the home to both the Vikings and Twins, but is definitely a football stadium built to have baseball.
Additional Comments: Baseball is meant to be played outdoors, but in Minnesota it's necessary to have a retractable roof. Plus fans need "scenery."

Pros of the ballpark: Well, let's just say this, the place is still standing. Not a great place to watch a baseball game. The aisles are too small, the sound system is nothing better than car stereo fare in a 60,000 seat stadium. However, it does have this smell to it that is almost heaven when you walk in there. You walk in and you know it's the Dome cause of the smell. The hot dogs, the watered down beer and the nachos all combine to make the Smell of the Dome.
Cons of the ballpark: Well, again, the aisles are way too small. The sound system sounds like somebody's car stereo  from about a block away blasted through a Bull horn. Sightlines are horrific. The AstroTurf is nothing better than a 1/4 inch thick carpet on solid concrete (I know, I've been on it several times). Not the best ballpark in baseball. I'd give Tropicana Field in Tampa and Olympic Stadium in Montreal higher marks than the Inflatable Toilet, as we affectionately call it here.
Additional Comments: None.
