2017 Ballpark Road Trip Guide

Nothing beats a great road trip across the country to see America’s pastime. We have developed multiple ballpark road trips that you and your family or friends can embark on during the 2017 Major League Baseball season. Most trips are based around weekends or holidays, although some extend into the work week. Read about Ken Schlapp’s tour of every MLB ballpark for more tips and information on taking a baseball road trip!

THE WINDY CITY

Want to take a weekend trip to Chicago to see both the White Sox and Cubs in action. During the second weekend of September 2017 you can do that. The White Sox host the San Francisco Giants at US Cellular Field and the Cubs are in town as they host the Nationals at Wrigley Field. While in Chicago be sure to visit Navy Pier for a great view of the Chicago skyline or go up high to the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower to see the city from high above.

BAY AREA SHOWDOWN

Like teams in New York City and Chicago, it is hard to find one weekend during the season when both teams are in town. The San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics are both in town during the three day weekend of August 12-14, 2016. Check out MLB’s most beautiful ballpark, AT&T Park as the Giants host the Baltimore Orioles. The BART can take you across the Bay to see the area’s other team, the Oakland A’s as they battle the Seattle Mariners at the O.co Coliseum. There are plenty of things to do on your trip to San Francisco including taking a tour of Alcatraz, finding the best view of the Golden Gate Bridge or eating some of San Francisco’s famous crab cakes!
